October 2, 2010 RALLY ON DC

Are you unemployed, do you know someone who is?

Today, I was at the Local (Denver, CO) Community Affiliate Office of the AFL-CIO - www.workingamerica.org. Did you know that they are running a "post card campaign"? I would tend to bet that you hadn't heard. Let me explain.

See the picture within this post, it is a smaller cut down version of the post card that will be sent out to unemployed voters who should VOTE FOR JOBS! Whether you are young or old, employed or not, we need to take back our country.

What we all want - Good Jobs * Health Care * Corporate Accountability * Education! Are we happy that "Corporate America" is trying to keep us down? NO, we're not! Where are the good jobs that we have the skill sets and talents for? Can't find them? NO, we can't find them because our government has added to THEIR needs when it comes to "job creation". Where are those "Main Street jobs"? Are we happy that we don't have UNIVERSAL Health Care? NO, we're not! Insurance companies rape us every moment that they can - are you going to just sit there and do nothing about it? Will you go without HealthCare? NO, huh?

Come on people!
STAND UP AND BE HEARD!

That's right!
STAND UP AND BE HEARD!

We all have voices and choices. What will your choice be? My choice is to have my voice heard and stand up for what is right. What is right for me is having a job similar to what I was laid off from, I want health care without having to give an arm and a leg for it, I want NAFTA to be written so that our jobs stop going to other countries via outsourcing, companies moving etc. I also want my government to take care of me when I have taken care of them my whole working life by paying taxes, paying into Social Security, paying into Medicare. I've worked hard and so have you so that when things get bad, we won't have to worry where our next money will come from, so we won't worry about losing our homes - just to name a few things.

MARCH FOR JOBS
MARCH FOR YOUR RIGHTS
MARCH ON 10/2/10 IN WASHINGTON DC

MY GAME PLAN

I'd like to see everyone unite, carpool, and convoy on DC. One person drives and others share the cost. The more the merrier! Make signs, tell how angry you are.

There are websites that are organizing buses and carpools - this one comes from the Daily Kos -
Find Buses to the 10.2.10 March on Washington and from One Nation Working Together.

Please visit all sites listed in this blog post. You'll be VERY happy that you did.

STAND UP AND BE HEARD!
REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!
LET'S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!

  2. Anonymous,

Thank you for taking time to read my blog. October 2 is going to be a day that will go down in history. Whether the media does anything or not, we'll remember and will tell others after us.

  3. I get the feeling that One Nation One March has the potential to become this generations' version of "Woodstock."

The coalition is strong with over 170 particpating organizations. It is a huge representation of people and groups in America who continue to advocate for individual rights in the areas of labor, social justice and peace.

Yesterday, I received two emails from two different organizations, will be contacting them today.

  5. Unbenounced to Tier 5 hopefulls is that with the recent Bill passed on Capitol Hill for $ 39 Billion Dollars in the Summer of 2010 for an extension of benefits for Tiers 1-4 until November 2010, monies/funds WERE indeed appropriated within this same Bill passed for a Tier 5 passage but Capitol Hill Members knowing full well this did not push for a Tier 5 vote in since these same monies within this Bill passed are unsupervised and unregulated, so the individual states got a windfall since the appropriated monies within this Bill for Tier 5 are now being diverted to pay the individual states past due bills and any other "thing" in need. Its been a HUGE smoke screen by Capitol Hill Memebrs for Tier 5 hopefulls !!!!!!!!!!
