"99ers" "Tier 5" "Extenders Bill" S-3706

Last week, Senator Debbie Stabenow (on Twitter - @ StabenowPress) introduced Senate Bill 3706 for 99ers, Tier 5. Read up on how what this bill is intended to do for you!

S. 3706:
A bill to extend unemployment insurance benefits and cut taxes for businesses to create hiring incentives, and for other purposes.

Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has sponsored this bill along with 11 cosponsors:
Sherrod Brown [D-OH]
Robert Casey [D-PA]
Christopher Dodd [D-CT]
Richard Durbin [D-IL]
Kirsten Gillibrand [D-NY]
Frank Lautenberg [D-NJ]

John Reed [D-RI]
Harry Reid [D-NV]
Charles Schumer [D-NY]
Sheldon Whitehouse [D-RI]

The full text of this bill can be found at:
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=s111-3706 I highly recommend that everyone read the bill to see what impact it will have.

The bill was introduced on August 4, 2010 right before the Senate went on a month's long vacation. They are scheduled to return on September 6, 2010.

This bill is in the first step in the legislative process. Introduced bills and resolutions first go to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills and resolutions never make it out of committee.

This morning, KWGN, channel 2 - Denver reports through their ticker "U.S. House members called back to Washington DC to pass jobs bill".

STAND UP AND BE HEARD!

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

  1. I created a wikipage entry for 99ers, if any wiki pros would like to add to or improve it using reliable sources and information, so historically this time in history is documented and remembered.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99ers

When I first submitted it, another person in a senior role with wikipedia messaged me asking if it was widespread enough of a term and said he would remove it if there were no sources on the term being used. So I went in and added multiple sources from ABC News to the Washington Post on the term being used. Apparently some people are completely unaware of what's going on in our world and haven't even heard about the 99ers. They didn't even know 1.4 million American families and growing are going through this.

  2. David,
Thank you for your comment. I've never posted to wikipedia but if you are willing to teach me, I'd be more than happy to help out.

Those people who have no clue about "99ers" and what they are going through are walking around with blinders on. Totally unreal! Apparently, they don't browse the internet, use Twitter or Facebook.

Please use any information I have posted including links for wikipedia.

Let me know how to post there. I'll help!

  3. No need for this bill, all you unemployed people need to get your ass and get a job. Apply the same energy that you all apply toward blogging and perhaps you will find work.

    Employed and happy in DC.

  4. Anonymous, Thank you for your comment. From reading it, I and my readers are reading your comment this way - "Employed and happy in DC". Apparently, by saying that you have one of those "cushy jobs" were you work less than any of us have had in our previous jobs. DC and the surrounding areas have seen high rate of EMPLOYMENT because all government jobs were created. Lucky you!

In other areas we are not as fortunate.

Say what you will, but if you are ever in one of our positions, how will you survive?
